12 25 2020 DEADLY DANGEROUS 
A man was killed and at least three others were injured when a car plowed into a crowd during a large, illegal street racing event in Carson on Christmas Day, officials said.

The collision happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday in the in the 900 block of 230th Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

At the time, hundreds of cars and people were gathered for the street racing event, said Sgt. Wendland of the department’s Carson station.

At least two vehicles were racing when they crashed and one of them struck at least four people, including the man who died, officials said.

The victim was identified as 66-year-old Daniel Patten II of Long Beach, the L.A. County coroner’s office told the Los Angeles Times.

Authorities didn’t provide information on the conditions of the other people injured.

No arrests had been made in connection with the fatal crash as of Sunday afternoon, according to Wendland.

Video from the scene Friday showed two sedans that were on top of a curb. A black vehicle had major damage to its front hood and a blue one appeared to have been hit in the rear.

On Christmas Day 2020 Dano was doing what he loved to do, filming content for his growing Youtube channel that he had been working on growing for several years. In doing so, he stepped out of his normal routine on covering Hot Rods, Surfing, Sunsets, and the Huntington Beach culture, and went to Carson, Ca to film some street racing that had been an ongoing tradition on Xmas. Both cars pursued by the CHP Saturday were featured in “The Fast & Furious 4” movie.  Both a modified 1970 Dodge Charger and a 2003 Infiniti G35 model were featured in the 2009 film. Two drivers allegedly re-created a race from the “Fast & Furious” movie franchise over the weekend, leading to an arrest by California Highway Patrol officers.

Two teenagers are facing a murder charge in juvenile court for the death of a Mission Hills High School student, who was struck by a black BMW while walking on a sidewalk last May. High school senior Lauren Wolford was just weeks from graduation when she was struck by the car in the 500 block of E. Mission Road, less than a mile from her high school, on May 12, 2018. On Monday, Wolford's family was at the boys' trial, which they described as a nightmare that has been ripping apart the hearts of their entire family. Prosecutors argue the two teenage boys, who will not be identified because they are juveniles, are responsible for her death because they were street racing. At least one driving more than 80 miles per hour at the time of the crash. https://www.nbcsandiego.com

Investigators found that an orange Dodge Challenger, gray Dodge Charger..........DALLAS - An 8-year-old girl was killed and another child is in critical condition following a crash in Dallas Friday evening that involved a car that was street racing with other vehicles. The 8-year-old girl who was sitting in the back seat of the Impala, identified as Olivia Mendez, was ejected from the vehicle. Mendez was taken to Children's Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Another child, who was in a car seat in the back seat of the Impala, was taken to Children's Hospital in critical condition. The DODGE Challenger T-boned the Impala, causing it to spin several times. 
Olivia Mendez, 8, was ejected from the Impala and later died from her injuries at the hospital.
 Another child that was in a car seat suffered critical injuries. The driver was taken to a 
hospital in good condition.
The driver of the DODGE Challenger was arrested after being taken to the hospital with 
minor injuries. The drivers of the Mustang and Charger fled the scene but were apprehended 
a short time later. Miguel Rocha said he was cut off by the Challenger and started 
recording video right after. The cellphone video captured the collision. 
“He almost hit me and that made me want to record because if he hits me
I have everything recorded,” Rocha said. “I never thought this was going to happen. 
I never thought anything like this was going to happen.”
“The first thing I saw was the little girl in the white dress fly out the back window,” he said.
“Those are just some images that are real graphic.”

Miranda pleaded guilty in October to two counts of manslaughter, a second-degree felony, and to reckless endangerment, a class A misdemeanor, which was later dismissed with prejudice. Miranda told officers he was speeding because he was in a hurry to get to an arcade. HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A juvenile suspect faces two felony charges after he was arrested in a deadly crash. Two teen boys were killed at around 1:55 a.m. Wednesday in the 4000 block of West Fuqua. The male suspect, 14, has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on charges of failure to stop and render aid and racing, causing death.The identities of the male victims, 14 and 15, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. WILLOWBROOK, Calif. (KABC) -- A 23-year-old mother who was killed in a violent crash that may have been caused by street racers just hours before Mother's Day was identified Monday. 
Bethany Holguin, of Compton, was driving a Toyota Camry on the way to pick up her 6-year-old daughter around 10:30 p.m. on May 11 when she was broadsided by a gray Infiniti that was flying down a residential street in Willowbrook. 
The Infiniti appeared to be racing a red sedan near Towne Avenue and 131st Street. After the crash, the driver of the Infiniti jumped into the sedan and they took off, police said.

SOUTH LA (CBSLA) — Family and friends of young mother Bethany Holguin spent Monday night in the same spot in South LA where Bethany was hit and killed Saturday by street racers, according to the CHP. “Tragic that this happened to her. I still can’t believe. It’s like a bad dream for me right now,” said Elizabeth, the victim’s aunt. The crash happened the day before Mother’s Day.

10 YEARS OLD DURRELL
Rocky Mount, North Carolina- Durrell Coley was 10 years old when he was thrown from a vehicle that was street racing along with 4 other vehicles on September 3, 2018. He was killed instantly. 3 people are being charged with speed competition which holds no jail time or fines. One person is being charged with involuntary manslaughter and the maximum jail time he is facing for that charge is 18 months. The man who was driving the car that my son was in has received 2 speeding tickets since he killed Durrell. He has no consequences. The justice system told him what he did was ok the day he was let out on bail with no restrictions. Why should these irresponsible drivers have their privileges after they took someone's right to live away.
Today we ask that you fight with us to make a change and help us honor the ones who lost their lives due to this senseless act and have not received the justice they deserve. Here is just a few names of the lives lost to speed competition on our public roads in the United States. The list below doesn't even put a dent in the number of people killed due to speed competition every year.

Speed competition should be considered a punishable crime. The death of a person as a result of criminally negligent operation of a motor vehicle should be classified as a federal offense and be considered a felony. That includes suspension of license until trial is over, jail time, fines and restitution. With each new offense the penalty should increase including higher fines and more time in jail. If a death occurs while participating in a speed competition all drivers should be charged with the penalties automatically doubled and racing causing death. It's time for our government to consider these heinous acts a crime.  Witnesses said cars at the sideshow were spinning out and doing donuts in the parking lot in honor of what would have been the "Fast and the Furious" actor's 45th birthday. Paul Walker died in a car crash in 2013 at age 40.

Some security guards got into a scuffle with members of the crowd and video shows damage to their vehicle, including a cracked windshield.

"It's alarming when we see this in the video. The behavior of the people that are gathering at these car meets wanting to beat other people up or just damage property - it's just not acceptable," Lt. Travis Tibbetts said. KABC7

Earlier this month, seven men were charged with assaulting Los Angeles police officers who were trying to chase a suspect at a street-racing incident in South L.A., authorities said. Last December, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said an ambulance responding to an emergency call was also attacked by racers at a street “takeover,” in which racers block off an intersection or stretch of road in order to perform “burnouts” and other stunts. A group of racers also shot a firework at a police helicopter in the Los Angeles area earlier this year, CHP officials said.

Officials said a dark-colored Dodge Charger was racing a gray Dodge Challenger in the southbound lanes. When one of those cars tried to get around a slower vehicle, it slammed on the brakes and hit a UPS big rig.

Apparently, two cars, a Dodge Charger and a Dodge Challenger, were racing on the southbound side of the road at about 127.5 miles an hour when one of the cars struck a UPS semi-truck. Fair use is a doctrine in the United States copyright law that allows limited use of copyrighted material without requiring permission from the rights holders, such as for commentary, criticism, news reporting, research, teaching or scholarship.  It provides for the legal, non-licensed citation or incorporation of copyrighted material in another author’s work under a four-factor balancing test.  The term “fair use” originated in the United States.  A similar principle, fair dealing, exists in some other common law jurisdictions.  Civil law jurisdictions have other limitations and exceptions to copyright.

    It's really sad these people have no idea till they cause harm how stupid they are! Why has this crook not made a public comment to our family's not a word!

    Why even produce a car for the streets that can be put in drag race mode at the flip of a switch? Asking for death and destruction on our streets with a vehicle that's made to drive of speeds in excess of 200mph, reaches 140 in 10 seconds. Absurd.
